Next generation thinking outside the square

Today we had Matamata College Year 11 Design and Visual Communication class visit our Tiny House Show Home.
A group of approximately 30 enthusiastic students were in the research phase of what would become their project for the next 6 months. The project is to design their own Tiny House. We thought this was such a great initiative and it was amazing to see how it affected and influenced the students and opened their eyes to other and alternative ways to living. For students who had not been exposed to the idea of Tiny House prior to this, numerous students were proclaiming “I want one!”.
It is exciting to see how teachers exposing children to think outside the square and challenge ideas on how we can live in a more cost-effective, sustainable way. Introducing these sorts of ideas to children at this age really sets them up for the future.
